July 2019: Why are there so many Dem candidates?

The short answer is:  to 'flood the market' to prevent a clear front-runner so the DNC can once again select the candidate of its choice at the convention, who is apparently Kamala Harris - exactly the kind of Wall Street stooge that the establishment adores.

Bill Roberts provided a longer answer on Quora in February 2019.

Why are so many Democratic candidates running for president in 2020?

I suspect it’s because the Wall Street controlled DNC and the establishment DINOs running the party got so much grief and pressure from the voters for their blatant cheating and rigging the 2016 primaries and convention in order to insure the coronation of their Wall Street darling, Hillary, that they were forced to come up with another, less obvious scheme to cheat their preferred candidate into the nomination for 2020.

Rather than actually make it a fair process by eliminating their corporate owned “superdelegates” altogether, they made the offer to keep those puppets out of voting on the first ballot.

So how do they buck history and FORCE a second ballot? ANSWER: They flood the primaries with tons of candidates in order to “muddy the water” and dilute the votes in an effort to prevent any one candidate from attaining a clear and undeniable lead, making it a real fight going into the national convention. Only then will a second ballot be possible where their Wall Street approved (selected) candidate will be manipulated into the nomination with the eager assistance of those corporate owned “superdelegates,” just like they did with Hillary.

Of course, they’ll also get a lot of help from the corporate media that serves them with coverage that will either boost or hurt any candidate in order to keep it all very close. It won’t be treated as an actual primary as much as it will be treated as a horse race, where a majority of the jockeys will collaborate to keep the race even, right up to the finish line.

As far as any independent or true progressive candidates are concerned, the corporate media will try to keep them as invisible to voters as possible, just like before. This not only serves the interests of the establishment and a second ballot vote at the convention, but it also helps increase profits with the advertising money candidates falling behind will spend.

It’s still too early in this scheme - ‘er, I mean process to tell for sure, but presently, it looks like they’ll be using Kamala Harris as their “Hillary” in this cycle since she’s 1) black, 2) female, and 3) deeply in the pocket of Wall Street and corporate greed. The corporate media’s voter manipulation routine is in full force for her right now, since they’re promoting her as the ‘front runner’ without any substance supporting that claim. This early in the electoral process, that claim is absolutely worthless for any reason beyond persuading (manipulating) the public that Harris is the only viable candidate.

And just like Hillary, the Democrats will lose to Trump because genuinely progressive Democratic voters will see they have been betrayed AGAIN, and either stay home or vote third party. Unlike in 2016, I doubt many real progressives will vote for Trump, but running a corporate owned phoney as the Democratic nominee is ALWAYS a losing idea for the people, even if they should somehow win their election (i.e. Obama, Pelosi, Schumer, et al.).

The establishment DINOs are just so determined to keep their seats on the government gravy train, they’d rather lose to Trump (again) than allow a true progressive, or anybody actually approved by the voters at large who would challenge the establishment’s corrupt, big money controlled way of legislating.
