The all-time best time I ever had in Amsterdam was with Kevvy-Kev, Sam, and Marls. Kath hooked us up with some Marriott points so we were riding in *high style* and pillaging the complimentary mini-stroopwafels in the lobby. Stroopwafels are amazing.
Is this the most amazing sandwich shop with food TO GO?! I think yes.
Het Houten Huisje - this place looks so cute and amazing! Sandwiches, wraps, salads, burgers, soup, organic, oh my! A tiny cafe with outdoor seating and central location <15 min walk from Centraal Station. Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 289t/o, 1012 RL Amsterdam.
Green Meals - has no website, but is an organic deli selling homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta & quiches. All organic and mostly Dutch in the Jordaan at Lindengracht 158.

As an American in Europe, sometimes you just want a good burger. And as a former New Yorker in Europe who has been spoiled by BareBurger, you want organic & happy animals to eat. Enter: Burgermeester. While it doesn't have the fries & onion rings combo basket, it has some tasty looking milkshakes. A few locations and, if it's anything like BareBurger, they'll be popping up everywhere in no time. For a splurge, Restaurant De Kas and its set menu sound incredible. Organic and so local that you can see the greenhouse from whence it came and, when it's nice outside, sit among the herbs. Kamerlingh Onneslaan 3, T: 462 4562.
De Culinaire Werkplaats sounds like a trip - not your average restaurant so check ahead for l'inspiration du jour and availability.
I love the Van Gogh Museum. The museum is open every day from 9am to 6pm. Fridays until 10pm.
