Scotland is staying in my Europa section because, after more than a thousand years, the peaceful revolt is coming...

Scotland has a number of world heritage sites and ancient trail routes:

Crossing the country from the west coast at Corpach near Ft. William to Inverness in the East, can be achieved by boot, bike or boat. Boat can be canoe or kayak.

Zigzag across Scotland by its canals and accompanying trails - bike, canoe, foot, ferry, etc.

  • Edinburgh:
    • The Doric Tavern - oldest gastro-pub in Edinburgh.
    • SprEHd deli with all local, option to dine-in.
    • Schop with all local and eco-friendly packaging, but delivery-only.
  • Connage Highland organic dairy farm northeast of Inverness in Ardersier.
Logistics
  • ☀️⛴ Harwich, England - Hook of Holland on Stena Lines. Could train to Amsterdam, ferry, then training on a GreaterAnglia line direct from Harwich to Edinburgh within a day, within 7 hours. Train rolls through Manningtree and Petersborough; at minimum, sometimes with a third change in Ipswich.
  • 🚂 Hinreise: Day 1: train Munich to Paris, arr. ~14:00, sleep in Paris.
    Day 2: midday train from Paris to London, ~2h incl. -1h time zone difference, pub afternoon, night train at 21:00 w Caledonian Sleeper.
    Day 3: wake up in Inverness at 8:42.
  • 🚂 Rückreise: Departure: night train from Ft. William back to London
    Day 2: AM arrival in London, Eurostar to Amsterdam, 4h, sleep a couple nights in Amsterdam, night train from Ams to M.
    Day 2 alt: AM arrival in London, stay 1 night, buy cheese, return to M.
